THE PROJECT

Cannabis delivery,
with a sunny disposition.

Pineapple Express is a small cannabis delivery company in Massachusetts with an education-first approach. It delivers to towns across the Pioneer Valley, North Quabbin, Central Massachusetts and the Brookfields, and offers subscription boxes, catering and party packs alongside standard delivery.

We built a site that explains how delivery works, introduces the brands it carries and gives every delivery town its own page. Ordering happens in the WebJoint storefront, and the Shop links across the site go straight to its delivery menu.

DESIGN STRATEGY

A tropical palette
in a dark green category.

The palette starts from the name: deep tropical green, a bright teal matched to the WebJoint shop, pineapple yellow and warm sand. It reads differently from the dark green-and-black look many cannabis sites use.

The homepage hero sits on white, with pineapple marks floating around the headline. Further down, two rows of brand logos scroll in opposite directions, sections fade in as they come into view and a Shop button appears once visitors scroll past the hero. Blog articles get their own editorial layout.

TYPOGRAPHY

Syne, a wide display face, for headings, with Geist Sans for body text.

COLOR

Deep tropical green, a bright teal, pineapple yellow and warm sand.

MOTION

Floating pineapple marks, counter-scrolling brand logos and gentle fade-ins.

HOW IT’S BUILT

Next.js up front,
the shop on WebJoint.

The site runs on Next.js 14 with the App Router, React 18 and TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS and Radix UI primitives for the mega menu, accordions and notifications. Forms are validated with React Hook Form and Zod and sent from server actions.

It’s hosted on AWS Amplify behind CloudFront, and the menu, cart and checkout run on WebJoint at pineappleexpressma.com/shop.

SEARCH, BUILT IN

Sixty towns,
grouped by region.

Customers search from the town they live in, so every town Pineapple Express delivers to has a page of its own.

Each of the 60 delivery towns has its own page, grouped by region on a searchable Delivery Areas hub.

Town pages list facts that differ from town to town, such as county, ZIP codes and the nearest towns served, and leave out delivery details the client hasn’t confirmed.

Pages set canonical addresses, and Organization, LocalBusiness, FAQ, Service, BlogPosting and list markup appear where each one fits.

The XML sitemap is generated from the town and blog data, and the site also publishes an llms.txt file and an HTML sitemap page.

When Massachusetts raised its purchase limits in 2026, the limits were updated in one place and changed across the whole site.
