THE PROJECT
Robinson’s Contracting is a locally owned, owner-operated roofing and exterior contractor based in Moscow Mills, Missouri. It replaces and repairs roofs and handles gutters, fascia, soffit and siding for homeowners in Lincoln, St. Charles and Franklin counties and St. Louis.
We designed and built the site: a homepage, a page for each of the four services, an about page, a service area page, a project gallery and a free estimate form, plus privacy, terms and accessibility pages.
DESIGN STRATEGY
The site sells what sets the business apart from bigger roofing companies: you talk to the owner. Elliot’s name and number appear in the hero, on every call button and in the phone bar, and the about page explains that there is no middleman between the homeowner and the person doing the work.
The design leans on the real work instead of stock photos. Crew shots on the roof fill the hero, a before-and-after slider shows a finished exterior, and the gallery walks through roofs, gutters, a porch ceiling and siding. Every page ends on the same plain invitation: “Let’s build something solid.”
TYPOGRAPHY
Barlow Condensed in tall capitals for headlines, Manrope for text and an italic serif for the second line of each headline.
COLOR
Deep navy and warm cream, with a brick red for buttons and accents.
MOTION
A services ticker with a pause button, a drag-to-compare before-and-after slider and a rotating “Locally owned” badge, all toned down for reduced motion.
HOW IT’S BUILT
The site runs on Next.js and React. Pages are prerendered and served through Amazon CloudFront, and photos go through Next.js image optimization, which sends each device a WebP at the size it needs.
The estimate form asks for the service, the location and the project details, so the owner knows where the job is and what it involves before calling back. On phones, a bar at the bottom of the screen keeps “Call Elliot” and “Request an estimate” one tap away.
SEARCH, BUILT IN
A local contractor wins work from nearby searches, so every page names the service and the place it is done.
Every page has its own title and meta description naming the service and Moscow Mills, plus a canonical tag.
RoofingContractor structured data carries the business name, phone, address, owner and the counties it serves, and inner pages add breadcrumbs. Service pages add Service data.
A service area page covers Lincoln, St. Charles and Franklin counties and St. Louis, each with its own section and call to action.
Each service page answers common questions and links to the other services.
An XML sitemap lists every public page, robots.txt points to it, and an llms.txt file summarizes the business and its pages for AI assistants.

THE SAME WEBSITE. A SMALLER SCREEN.
