THE PROJECT

A resale marketplace,
from search bar to back office.

Sell Timeshares Today is the resale brand of SDS Property Services in Santa Ana, California. Owners use it to advertise a timeshare for sale or rent, and buyers and renters browse the listings and send an inquiry. The site describes the service plainly: a flat-fee listing and marketing service, not a broker.

We designed and built the whole platform: the public marketplace, the seller, valuation and buyer-inquiry forms, the AWS backend that stores and routes each lead, and a private admin area where the team reviews submissions, publishes listings with photos and works leads.

DESIGN STRATEGY

A travel marketplace first,
with the terms in plain view.

The homepage opens on aerial resort footage with a For Sale and For Rent search bar as the first thing to use, and the seller actions (sell, rent it out, what’s it worth) sit directly underneath. Listings, brands and destinations fill the rest of the page, so it feels like a travel marketplace rather than a sales pitch.

In a category where trust comes first, we wrote the disclosure rules into the content model: the site says what the service is and is not, keeps fees off the page and only shows a statistic when the client supplies a real figure.

TYPOGRAPHY

Cormorant Garamond for headlines, Plus Jakarta Sans for text and Space Grotesk for prices.

COLOR

Deep navy and warm gold on cream, for a hospitality feel rather than a hard sell.

PHONES

A bottom tab bar, a slide-up filter sheet and add-to-home-screen support, so the site behaves like an app.

HOW IT’S BUILT

Next.js up front,
a serverless backend behind.

The site runs on Next.js 15 with React Server Components and TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS brand tokens and hosted on AWS Amplify behind CloudFront. The backend is AWS Amplify Gen 2: AppSync GraphQL, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3 for listing photos, Cognito for staff sign-in and SES for lead emails.

Forms post through server actions to Lambda functions that check a signed token, a hidden honeypot field and fill time before a lead is stored and the team is alerted. Listing pages are prerendered and refreshed every five minutes.

SEARCH, BUILT IN

A page for every listing,
and for every brand.

Marketplaces live on long-tail search, so every listing and every resort brand gets a page that search engines can understand.

Every listing has its own page with a self-referencing canonical, Product and Offer markup that switches to sold out when the listing sells, and a breadcrumb trail.

Twelve brand landing pages, from Marriott Vacation Club to WorldMark, are generated from one content file, each with its own title, description and canonical.

The sitemap is built from live listing data, regenerates every five minutes and only carries a last-modified date where a real one exists.

The FAQ page carries FAQ markup, and every page carries Organization and WebSite markup with a site search action.

Filtered browse addresses point their canonical at the main browse page, and the admin area is kept out of crawling.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

The details
that make it work.

Search-first marketplace

Buyers filter by sale or rent, brand, region, country, season, bedrooms and price, and each filter is kept in the address so searches can be shared.

Protected lead intake

Every form is checked for bots on the server, with a signed token, a honeypot and a fill-time check, before the lead is saved and the team alerted.

Back-office CRM

Staff sign in to review seller submissions, publish listings with photos and work buyer leads from one admin.
