How to grant Nexvato access to Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Add Nexvato to your Google Analytics 4 property with the right permissions. Learn where to invite users and how to confirm access.

Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how people find and use your website. Use this guide to give Nexvato access to the GA4 property for your project.

Before you start

You need the Administrator role for the account or property where you are adding us. Check the property name against your website before changing permissions.

Choose the access level

For a single website, use Property access management. Account access management applies the role to every property in that account; use it when your onboarding instructions specifically request account-wide access.

Choose the role requested by your Nexvato contact:

  • Administrator: permits settings changes and user management. Use this when our onboarding request asks for administrative access.
  • Editor: permits property settings changes, but not user management.
  • Viewer: provides reporting access when our team only needs to review data.

If your message does not specify a role, confirm it with us before adding the user.

Add the Nexvato user

  1. Open Analytics. Sign in at Google Analytics and select the relevant GA4 property.
  2. Go to Admin. Under Property, open Property access management. Use the Account equivalent only if account-wide access was requested.
  3. Create a user. Select +, then Add users.
  4. Enter our email. Use the Google-account address in your onboarding message and select Notify new users by email.
  5. Set the requested role. Check any data restrictions against the reporting work agreed with our team. Restrictions can hide cost or revenue metrics.
  6. Save access. Select Add.

Check that we have access

Find our email in the access list and check its role. Send your Nexvato contact the property name and let us know you have added the user. We will confirm that we can open the right property.

Keep the existing property in place. If you cannot identify which property belongs to your website, send us the names you see so we can help you choose before you make changes.

Troubleshooting and later changes

If you cannot add a user, ask an existing administrator to help. If the email is rejected, confirm the exact Google-account address with Nexvato. To change a role later, find the user in access management, adjust the permissions, and save. Permissions inherited from an account must be changed at that level.

Access is managed separately in each service. Continue with the guides your Nexvato contact requested:
